Otlje Riverbed Regulation and Flood-Mitigation Works
EACOM delivered riverbed-regulation and protective civil works in Otlje under a government infrastructure project financed by TAV Macedonia.
The project was delivered under EACOM’s former legal name, EUROVIA DOOEL.
Context and purpose.
The Otlje Riverbed Regulation project is a completed water and environmental infrastructure project in Otlje, within the Kumanovo region of North Macedonia.
The project was implemented for the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and financed by TAV Macedonia.
EACOM, operating at the time under the EUROVIA name, delivered the contracted riverbed-regulation and protective civil works.
The publicly documented scope included riverbed cleaning, cascade structures, protective wall works, final riverbed arrangement, stairs and ramps providing controlled access, and supporting tree-planting and afforestation activities.
The works focused on a critical section of the riverbed associated with recurring high-water and flood-related problems.
The project was completed in 2021.
For EACOM, the project represents a completed reference in river engineering, municipal flood-mitigation infrastructure and environmental civil works.
Riverbed regulation, protective structures and environmental works.
Key technical aspects.
Riverbed regulation and flood-mitigation construction.
The project addressed a critical section of the riverbed in Otlje through cleaning, regulation and protective civil works.
The documented construction scope included cascade structures and a protective wall, together with final arrangement of the treated river section.
These works were intended to improve the physical condition of the contracted river section and reduce exposure to adverse high-water effects.
The project addressed a critical river section associated with high-water and flood-related problems, through riverbed cleaning, cascade structures, protective wall works and final regulation of the treated section.
River engineering and flood-mitigation construction.
Riverbed-regulation projects combine civil construction, watercourse interfaces, erosion-control considerations and protective structures within an environmentally sensitive work area.
The Otlje project required coordinated execution of cleaning, structural works, access elements and supporting planting activities.
The completed works strengthen EACOM’s portfolio in river engineering, flood-mitigation infrastructure and municipal environmental works.
Coordination of cleaning, structural works and environmental activities.
Riverbed-regulation projects require coordinated sequencing of cleaning, ground preparation, structural works, access construction and final environmental activities.
EACOM coordinated personnel, machinery, materials and active work areas within the contracted project section.
Execution required controlled operations within and adjacent to the riverbed.
Final works were coordinated in preparation for inspection and handover.
Completed riverbed-regulation and flood-mitigation works.
The completed project delivered riverbed-regulation and protective civil works within a critical section of the river in Otlje.
The documented construction scope included riverbed cleaning, cascade structures, protective wall works, final arrangement, access stairs and ramps, and supporting planting activities.
The project was completed in 2021.
Quality, environment and safety during construction.
Construction activities were managed through coordinated quality, environmental and occupational health and safety procedures.
EACOM currently operates under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
The project required controlled management of river-adjacent work areas, machinery movement, excavation and material handling, workforce access, watercourse interfaces, structural construction activities, environmental protection measures and completion inspections.
Client, contractor and role separation.
The Government of the Republic of North Macedonia is identified as the project investor.
TAV Macedonia is identified as the project financier.
