Mother Teresa University – Building Reconstruction and Conversion

Project Stats

OUR APPROACH

Mother Teresa University – Building Reconstruction and Conversion is a public higher education facility project located within the Ilinden Barracks complex in Skopje.

The project involved the reconstruction and conversion of an existing building to serve the operational needs of University “Mother Teresa”, supporting academic, administrative and institutional functions.

The adapted facility was intended to provide functional spaces for teaching, learning, faculty operations, administration and daily university activities. For a university building, the key construction challenge is not only physical renovation, but the transformation of an existing structure into a safe, organized and usable academic environment.

For EACOM, this project represents an important reference in the reconstruction and conversion of public institutional buildings, where technical execution, functional adaptation, regulatory compliance and long-term usability are central to successful delivery.

Scope of Works

EACOM’s scope included the reconstruction, conversion and technical adaptation of the existing building for higher education use, including:

  • Reconstruction of the existing building structure
  • Conversion works for university and institutional use
  • Façade works
  • Architectural and interior adaptation works
  • MEP installations
  • HVAC works
  • Access and circulation adaptation
  • Fire safety and accessibility-related elements
  • Functional organization of academic, administrative and support spaces
  • Exterior and site works
  • Final preparation for institutional use, inspection and handover

Technical Relevance

Reconstruction and conversion projects require a controlled execution approach, especially when an existing structure must be adapted for a new institutional function.

The Mother Teresa University project required coordinated delivery across structural reconstruction, façade works, architectural adaptation, MEP installations, HVAC systems, access and circulation planning, fire safety, accessibility elements and exterior site works.

For a higher education facility, these components are essential to support daily academic activity, administrative operations, safe user movement, technical reliability and long-term institutional use.

The project demonstrates EACOM’s capability to convert existing public buildings into functional institutional facilities through integrated civil, architectural and technical execution.
